What is CBD?

CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of at least 113 active cannabinoids identified in cannabis.

What are cannabinoids?

Close to 500 phytochemicals have been identified in hemp plants (Phytochemicals are various biologically active compounds found in plants). Hundreds of them are terpenoids, terpenoids contribute to the aroma, flavours, and colours of many herbs, plants, and fruits. Cannabinoids are a sub-class of terpenoids.

What is difference between Raw vs Decarb CBD?

The difference between RAW (ENTOURAGE CBD+CBDA) and Decarb (CLASSIC CBD) is the heating process. The RAW-product-line contains the full range of cannabinoids and terpenes, whereas the Decarboxylated product line has been heated to decrease the amount of acid groups (CBDa to CBD, CBGa to CBG etc.).

Some customers report that they get better results using CBD + CBDA, others CBD. This doesn’t mean that one is better than the other, it is just a matter of finding which one is right for you. Cannabinoids all work together in a synergistic way, this has been called the entourage effect. Our Raw extracts contain CBD + CBDA with over 400 other natural compounds such as terpenes, flavonoids, photo-nutrients etc.

Sometimes it’s just a matter of preference. If you don’t get the results you expect with one it’s often a good idea to try the other to see if one is better than the other.

What is the Endocannabinoid system?

Everyone has a system of cannabinoid receptors throughout our brains and bodies. When these receptors are activated, they enable two-way communication between body systems; something previously thought to be impossible. What is CBD Hemp oil?

CBD hemp oil is extracted from the stalks and seeds of industrial hemp plants. The plants used are specially bred to contain high concentrations of naturally occurring Cannabidiol (CBD).

Is Hemp Extract the same as medical marijuana?

No. The industrial hemp used to produce hemp CBD is a variety of cannabis that does not contain any significant levels of the psychoactive properties of THC. Industrial hemp, is used to produce Hemp CBD, and is essentially a cousin of marijuana, and for most people, a more practical source of cannabinoids.

Will I get “high” if I consume Hemp CBD?

No, you will not get high from consuming hemp CBD. It is made entirely and only from organic industrial hemp. Please be aware that the product, as with all industrial hemp CBD, contains a minute level of the psychoactive properties THC of circa 0.3%.

When you are drug tested at work they use a urine sample to check for the presence of THC metabolites. (Tetrahyrdocannabinol)In a roadside test it is a buccal swab and if failed a blood test is used to determine the presence of THC metabolites.

THC-COOH, and THC-11-oic acid are formed in the liver after the body has consumed cannabis and it is these chemicals that are tested when you go for a blood or urine test. THC-COOH doesn’t have much cross reactivity to the other non psychoactive cannabinoids such as CBD.

If you are taking whole plant hemp oil, there are small amounts  of THC that could build up in your system. Due to differing body weight, metabolic rate and other factors it is possible that cbd oil containing as little as 0.02% THC could show up in swabs, blood or urinalysis.  Customers must determine for themselves if the requirement for CBD outweighs this possibility.  We will soon be introducing a pure CBD product which will negate this concern.
